Can I apply if my 12th result is awaited?
No, you must have officially passed your Class 12 examination on or before 7 October 2026. Candidates whose results are declared after this date are not eligible for this recruitment cycle.
Is the application fee refundable if I make a mistake?
No, the application fee is non-refundable. If you need to make corrections to your form, you will be charged an additional fee of ₹200 for the first correction and ₹500 for the second.
Do I need to pay a fee if I am a female candidate?
No, female candidates are completely exempted from paying the application fee for the SSC CHSL examination. This exemption also applies to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
How is the final merit list prepared?
The final merit is determined based on the performance in Section-I and Section-II of the Tier-II examination. You must also qualify the Computer Knowledge Test and the Skill/Typing test to be considered.
What if I have an old registration ID from the previous SSC website?
The commission has migrated to a new portal, ssc.gov.in. Even if you have applied for previous exams, you must complete a fresh One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website to apply for CHSL 2026.
