Selection process

Can final-year degree students apply for SBI PO 2026?
Yes, candidates in their final year or semester of graduation can apply provisionally. They must produce official documentary proof of having cleared the degree examination on or before the date specified by the bank during the interview stage.
What is the age relaxation policy for reserved categories?
The basic age limit is 21 to 30 years. SC and ST candidates receive a 5-year upper age relaxation, OBC non-creamy layer candidates receive 3 years, and PwBD applicants receive between 10 and 15 years depending on their primary community category.
Is there negative marking in the preliminary and main tests?
Yes, one-fourth of the marks assigned to a particular question are deducted for every wrong objective answer in both Phase-I and Phase-II. Questions left blank carry no penalty. The descriptive paper does not have negative scoring.
How many attempts are permitted for this bank exam?
General and EWS candidates are permitted up to 4 attempts in the Phase-II Main exam. General PwBD and OBC candidates can appear up to 7 times. Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories have no limit on attempts, subject to age rules.
