Selection process
- 1Phase I: Online Preliminary Examination (Objective test of 100 marks covering English, Quant, and Reasoning)

Frequently asked questions
Can final year college students apply for SBI PO 2026?
Yes. Students in their final year or semester can submit applications provisionally. However, they must produce documentary evidence of passing their graduation degree examination on or before the document verification date set by the bank, failing which their candidature stands cancelled.
What is the age limit and relaxation criteria?
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and under 30 years old on the calculation date. Upper age limit relaxations apply: 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC non-creamy layer, and up to 10 to 15 years for PwBD applicants.
How many attempts are permitted for the SBI PO exam?
General and EWS applicants are allowed a maximum of four attempts in the Phase II Main exam. OBC candidates have seven attempts, while there is no restriction on attempts for SC and ST candidates. Appearing in the preliminary exam does not count as an attempt.
What is the probation duration and bond requirement?
Appointed candidates serve a probation period of two years. During probation, officers undergo continuous internal assessments. At joining, officers must execute a service bond agreeing to serve the bank for a minimum of three years, or forfeit the designated bond amount of two lakh rupees.
What documents must be uploaded during online registration?
Applicants need a recent passport-sized colour photo, a clear signature on white paper with black ink, a left thumb impression, and the handwritten declaration text. All files must strictly match the pixel dimensions and file size boundaries specified in the official SBI guidelines.
