Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum qualification for RRB NTPC undergraduate posts?
Applicants must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) board exam or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks. This 50% requirement does not apply to candidates belonging to SC, ST, or PwBD categories, nor to applicants holding a recognized bachelor's degree or higher educational qualification.
Can I submit applications to multiple RRB zones under CEN 07/2026?
No. Railway rules permit an applicant to register under only one RRB zone for this notification. Submitting separate forms to multiple boards leads to automatic rejection of all applications and potential debarment from future recruitment tests conducted by the Railway Recruitment Boards.
Is any part of the application fee refunded to candidates?
Yes. Candidates who appear for the First Stage CBT get a refund. Unreserved and OBC candidates receive Rs 400 back from their Rs 500 fee, while candidates paying the concession fee of Rs 250 receive a full refund, subject to nominal banking transaction charges.
Which positions require a computer typing test?
Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist require a qualifying typing speed test. Candidates must attain 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on a computer without editing aids. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk do not require typing.
What age limits apply to this recruitment?
Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old as on 01 January 2027. Government rules grant upper age relaxations: 3 years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer, 5 years for SC and ST candidates, and up to 10 years for persons with benchmark disabilities.
