RPSC RAS Recruitment 2027: Apply Online for 905 State and Subordinate Service Posts
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC)
Quick facts
About the role
Rajasthan Public Service Commission has opened recruitment for 905 posts under the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination. Openings span executive assignments including Rajasthan Administrative Service, Rajasthan Police Service, Rajasthan Accounts Service, and subordinate cadre positions across revenue, commercial taxes, and food distribution wings. Men and women holding a bachelor degree in arts, science, commerce, engineering, or equivalent qualifications can submit their candidature. Final-year college students may also register on provisional terms. The work demands administrative skill, field inspections, public grievance redressal, and policy execution across district collectorates, tehsil offices, and state secretariats. Given the service tenure and leadership authority these cadres offer, graduates throughout Rajasthan and neighbouring states register in large numbers. Candidates must register via the state SSO portal, upload their academic transcripts, and prepare for the multi-tiered selection process conducted across designated district centres in Rajasthan.

Frequently asked questions
Can students in their final year of graduation apply for RPSC RAS?
Yes, final-year degree students can take the preliminary exam. However, the commission requires you to submit documentary evidence of passing your graduation examination before sitting for the main written examination, failing which your candidature will be cancelled.
Is there negative marking in the RPSC RAS preliminary examination?
Yes, negative marking applies to the objective preliminary paper. Exactly one-third of the marks allotted to each question are deducted for every incorrect response. Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty, provided the fifth bubble is darkened on the OMR sheet.
Can candidates from other Indian states apply for these vacancies?
Candidates from outside Rajasthan can apply for all advertised posts. They will be treated under the unreserved or General category irrespective of their caste status in their home states, and will not be eligible for age concessions or fee exemptions provided to domicile residents.
What is the age limit and concession criteria for this exam?
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and under 40 years as of the cut-off date. Male candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC groups from Rajasthan receive a five-year extension, while general women get five years and reserved-category women receive ten years.
Do I need to pay an examination fee every time I apply for RPSC exams?
No, Rajasthan operates a One Time Registration system. Once you pay the prescribed OTR fee of ₹600 for unreserved or ₹400 for reserved categories, you do not pay separate examination fees for subsequent state recruitment tests registered under the same SSO profile.
