About the role
Indian Air Force has published the notification for Agniveervayu intake under the Agnipath scheme, inviting applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates. Around 3,500 vacancies are open across Science and other than Science streams. Selected recruits serve for a fixed four-year engagement period, during which they receive military training, fixed monthly emoluments with annual increments, and medical and insurance coverage. Upon completion of four years, up to 25 percent of the batch will be considered for permanent enrolment in the regular cadre based on operational requirements and organisational merit. Those who have passed Class 12 with at least 50 percent aggregate marks or hold a three-year technical engineering diploma can register through the official Air Force portal before the November deadline.

How to apply

- 4Pay the examination fee of Rs. 550 plus applicable GST through the online payment gateway.
- 5Submit the finalised form and download the printout with your registration number for future stages.

Can married candidates apply for IAF Agniveervayu?
No. Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Enrolled personnel must remain unmarried throughout the four-year service tenure. Getting married during the engagement results in immediate discharge.
What is the minimum height requirement for Agniveervayu?
Male candidates must stand at least 152 cm. Female candidates also require 152 cm, though applicants from Uttarakhand hill tracts and the North East receive a concession down to 147 cm.
Can arts or commerce stream students apply?
Yes. Candidates who passed Intermediate or Class 12 in non-science streams with 50 percent aggregate marks and 50 percent marks in English can apply under Other than Science Subjects.
Is there negative marking in the Phase I written exam?
Yes. Each correct answer carries one mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect response. Unattempted questions carry zero deduction.
What financial payout do Agniveervayu recruits get after four years?
Upon completing the four-year tenure, personnel receive an income-tax-exempt Seva Nidhi corpus of roughly Rs. 10.04 lakh, formed by their monthly savings matched equally by the government.
