About the role
All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi conducts the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET 10) to recruit Nursing Officers across participating AIIMS institutions and central government hospitals in India. Around 3,200 Group B vacancies are expected across institutes including AIIMS New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Patna and several others. Candidates who hold a degree in B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution registered with the State or Indian Nursing Council can apply without prior experience. Those holding a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) need a minimum of two years of verified clinical experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds. Eighty percent of seats across participating AIIMS institutes stand earmarked for female nursing professionals and twenty percent for male candidates under central guidelines. Selected recruits draw basic pay under 7th CPC Level 7 with government allowances, posted to inpatient and emergency wards across India.

Yes. Candidates with a GNM diploma can apply provided they hold valid registration with a State or Indian Nursing Council and possess at least two years of work experience in a hospital having 50 or more beds.
How does the fee refund work for SC and ST candidates?
The examination authority credits back the full ₹2,400 application fee directly to the candidate's bank account after the exam, provided the candidate attended the test and submitted valid category certificates during registration.
What is the negative marking policy in NORCET examinations?
Both the Preliminary and Mains computer tests carry negative marking. Candidates lose one-third of the marks allotted to a question for every incorrect answer marked on the computer screen.
Are fresh B.Sc Nursing graduates eligible without experience?
