Choosing a clinic or hospital

Health decisions are rarely made calmly. A little checking before you book saves money and second visits.

Before you pay

  • Confirm the doctor's qualification and registration, not just the clinic name.
  • Ask what the consultation fee covers and whether tests are billed separately.
  • For any procedure, ask how many the team does in a month.
  • Check visiting hours — many specialists sit only on certain days.

Common questions

Is a bigger hospital always better?

No. For routine care a nearby clinic with a regular doctor is usually faster and cheaper. Bigger centres matter when you need surgery, intensive care or several specialists together.

How do I compare prices?

Ask for a written estimate that separates doctor's fee, tests, medicines and room charges. Two clinics quoting the same total often include very different things.
