Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery

Nalanda Lane studio space

Art students sit beside working painters across these open drawing halls. The rooms stay quiet.

Beginners work on basic pencil studies, perspective setups and local still life arrangements while walking through the ongoing visual exhibitions set up in adjacent halls.

• Pencil control drills
• Direct observation sketching
• Regular exhibition walk-throughs
• Guidance for self-taught artists

What happens inside?

People drop by to practise quietly. You see college painters, retired locals and young learners working together on simple boards. Staff guide learners on core technique. Traditional line drawing anchors the daily practice here. Bring personal sketchbooks and charcoal sticks along when you join.
