About Ishalaya School of Kathak
Kathak training involves precise footwork and rhythmic counts rather than casual stage choreography. We teach classical technique.
What happens during training?
Sessions center on rhythm, posture, and technical discipline rather than quick stage routines. Beginners start with basic tatkar footwork and rhythmic cycles called teentaal.
Practical routine notes
- Pure classical footwork drills
- Basic hand mudras and body balance
- Structured practice of bols and padhant
Students needing disciplined foundational dance practice attend regular evening batches in Aundh. Classes demand physical stamina and patience. Progress depends on consistent daily repetition at home alongside studio corrections. Batch strength stays controlled so students receive individual corrections on their posture and foot precision.
