Historic birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh

• Takht Sri Patna Sahib stands in the old quarters of Patna along Harmandir Gali.
• Built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh during the 1830s, the white marble gurdwara marks the 1666 birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru.
• Inside the main prayer hall, priests preserve personal belongings of Guru Gobind Singh, including four iron arrows, a small dagger, a pair of wooden sandals, and a cradle lined with gold leaf.
• A community kitchen (langar) serves free meals to visitors daily regardless of faith.
• The narrow lanes outside stay busy with shops selling sweets, religious literature, and steel kara bangles.
• November through February brings cooler days, with large crowds arriving during the Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti celebrations in winter.
• Entry is free, and the shrine remains open from 4:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
