Wetland reserve along the Yamuna River

• A protected wetland reserve spanning roughly four square kilometres where the Yamuna River enters Uttar Pradesh.
• The Uttar Pradesh state government notified the site as a wildlife sanctuary in 1990 under the Wildlife Protection Act.
• Visitors walk along unpaved paths bordering the barrage to observe over three hundred bird species recorded here, including resident waterbirds, reed warblers, and winter migrants like shovellers and gadwalls.
• Bamboo thickets, marshes, and native trees line the tracks, with designated watchtowers looking across the reservoir.
• November through February brings the highest concentration of migratory waterfowl.
• The sanctuary opens daily between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
• An entry ticket costs thirty rupees for Indian citizens, while foreign visitors pay three hundred and fifty rupees, with additional charges for digital cameras and vehicles.
