IVUS-Guided Ultra-Low Contrast Angioplasty in CKD Patient | Dr Nikhil Patil | MGM Vashi Angioplasty in patients with kidney disease can be challenging because the contrast dye used during routine procedures may increase kidney-related risk. Recently at MGM Hospital Vashi, an advanced IVUS-guided ultra-low contrast angioplasty was performed in a high-risk CKD patient. IVUS, or intravascular ultrasound, works like an ultrasound camera inside the artery. It helps assess the blockage, choose the right stent size, guide stent placement and confirm the final result — while reducing dependence on contrast dye in selected patients. This case highlights the role of advanced imaging-guided angioplasty in complex heart patients.
