• Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple sits 28 kilometres from Nashik at the base of Brahmagiri Mountain, where the Godavari River originates.
• Built from black basalt stone by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao in the mid-eighteenth century on an older temple site, it houses one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas.
• The lingam features three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, crowned with a jeweled headpiece displayed on Mondays.
• Visitors see the intricately carved Nagara-style spire, stone pillars, and the Kushavarta Kund, a sacred tank where pilgrims bathe before darshan.
• The temple opens daily from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
• Entry to the general queue is free, though paid passes are sold at the counter for quicker access.
