• The Bhonsle rulers constructed the water body in the late 18th century as a municipal water catchment.
• Today, visitors walk along the paved stone embankment, watch evening musical fountain performances, and stop at the row of road-facing food stalls serving local snacks like roasted corn and spiced tea.
• The lake borders agricultural research land and dense tree cover on three sides, keeping views open across the water toward the western horizon.
• Evenings from October to February are the most comfortable times to visit, when temperatures drop and the promenade fills with families and college students.
• Access to the promenade remains open daily at all hours, and there is no admission charge to enter the lakefront area.
