About Abacus magic
Children learn mental arithmetic through bead calculation, starting with small numbers and building up speed through regular practice.
Learning through beads
Classrooms here in Gokulam focus on hands-on math tools for young learners. Children sit with wooden frames, sliding beads to solve sums instead of memorising formulas.
What happens in class?
Teachers track each child's speed as they move from basic addition to multi-digit sums. Once the bead positions become second nature, learners begin picturing the physical frame in their heads to do quick mental sums.
