🦵 Breaking the Myth: Is Robotic Knee Replacement Always Better? Many patients believe that robotic knee replacement is superior to conventional knee replacement. The facts may surprise you. ✅ What studies have shown • Robotic surgery may improve implant alignment. • Better alignment does not always mean less pain, better movement, or higher patient satisfaction. • A large Canadian registry study involving over 7,000 knee replacements reported higher major complication rates with robotic-assisted surgery compared to conventional surgery. ✅ Advantages of Conventional Knee Replacement • Proven long-term success over decades. • Excellent pain relief and functional outcomes. • Lower treatment cost. • Shorter operative time in many cases. • No dependence on expensive robotic technology. • Avoids pin-site complications seen with some robotic systems. ✅ What really determines success? The most important factor is the surgeon’s experience, surgical technique, proper implant selection, and rehabilitation, not whether a robot is used. ⭐ The Truth A well-performed conventional knee replacement can provide: • Excellent pain relief • Natural knee function • Long-lasting results • High patient satisfaction 🏥 At Bhargava Medical & Trauma Center, Kanpur, treatment decisions are based on scientific evidence and individual patient needs—not marketing trends. 👨‍⚕️ Dr. Gaurav Bhargava Joint Replacement Surgeon Joint Replacement Center Bhargava Medical & Trauma Center, Kanpur Jun 9, 2026
