Department of Physics, IIT Dhanbad

Research and academic training

Physics programs here focus on core theoretical frameworks and experimental methodology. Faculty members conduct investigations into condensed matter, optics, and high-energy phenomena alongside regular classroom teaching.

Students gain access to laboratory facilities designed for data analysis and physical simulation. The curriculum maintains a rigid structure to ensure fundamental concepts are mastered before complex topics are introduced.

• Study of quantum mechanics
• Experimental solid state research
• Computational physics training
• Advanced instrumentation practice

Practical sessions require consistent attendance. Students should follow departmental guidelines for lab safety and equipment handling to maintain a functional workspace for everyone.
