Natural river cave with cold flowing water

• Known locally as Guchhupani, this natural river gorge sits roughly eight kilometres north of central Dehradun near Anarwala village.
• British colonial officers recorded that 19th-century outlaws hid inside the dark cavern after raiding nearby hill settlements.
• The limestone formation runs about 600 metres long, with vertical rock walls that narrow to just a few feet apart in several sections.
• A cold mountain stream flows along the cave bed year-round, requiring visitors to wade through ankle-deep water to reach a small waterfall tucked deep inside.
• Summer between April and June draws crowds seeking relief from valley heat, while October brings clear weather with manageable water levels.
• Heavy monsoon downpours between July and August can cause sudden surges that close the site.
• The gate opens from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with an entry fee of thirty-five rupees.
