Massive steel bust at Velliangiri foothills

• Set against the Velliangiri foothills outside Coimbatore, this site holds a 112-foot-tall steel statue of Shiva consecrated in 2017.
• Guinness World Records lists it as the largest bust sculpture in the world.
• Visitors can walk around the open-air plaza, sit before the consecrated Yogeshwar Linga, or visit the nearby Dhyanalinga dome and subterranean water bodies called the Theerthakunds.
• Each evening, a 14-minute projection mapping show titled Divya Darshanam plays directly onto the statue face, detailing yogic traditions.
• The grounds stay open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and entry to the plaza requires no ticket.
• Plan visits between October and March when daytime temperatures stay tolerable, or come after sunset to avoid walking barefoot across the sun-baked granite ground.
