About It's Hatchy Arts
Hands get messy with graphite and paints here while learners figure out lines, shading and proportions step by step.
Learning the craft
Students sit together working through basic sketching drills, still life studies, and watercolours. You begin with pencil pressure, line weight, and tone gradations before attempting portraits or complex scenes.
- Observational drawing practice
- Ink pen detailing techniques
- Colour mixing on paper
- Composition planning for finished artwork
What can you expect during sessions?
Instruction happens on paper right in front of you. Regular practice at home keeps fingers nimble between classroom critiques. People carry their own sketchbooks, while shared tables give everyone enough room to work without bumping elbows. Beginners get individual feedback rather than generic group lectures.
